The Editorial Cartoons of J. N. "Ding" Darling (CD-ROM)
This is a collection of over 6,800 of Darling's editorial cartoons,
chronicling the trends, thoughts, and politics of the United States from
1912 to 1962. To view Ding's cartoons is to experience history in real
time and to gain perspective on today's issues and problems.
Agriculture, economics, education, human nature, war & peace—he covered
them all. Darling drew through two World Wars and the terms of seven
Presidents. His cartoons were syndicated in over 100 leading newspapers
and earned him two Pulitzer Prizes. This database of high-resolution
cartoons is designed for use on the Windows Operating System and can be
run directly from the CD. The cartoons are indexed for key-word
retrieval based on date, subject, people, places or events.
